Within GHX Mobile, Scouting Pins can be created to take note of scouting observations, tags, photos, and record Crop Information (Growth Stage, Stand Count, and Seed Depth). All individuals with access to the grower account will be able to create and view others scouting pins to better provide additional insights throughout the growing season. Share Branded Photo Scouting Reports with others via text, email, or photo.
From the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, choose the Fields tab.
Once the fields tab is open, a Scouting Pin can be dropped on the field from two different workflows. Select the Map tab at the top of the screen and locate the field within the Map OR toggle to the List tab to view the fields listed alphabetically and choose Create New Scouting Pin.
Option 1. Drop a Scouting Pin from the Map tab:
From the Map tab, zoom into the field on the map, then select the + button in the bottom right corner, and choose Drop a Pin.
With the crosshairs fixed to the center of the screen, move the map around to align the desired scouting point in the field with the bottom point of the crosshairs/pin for where you want the pin to be dropped. Once the pin is in the desired location choose Create Pin.
Option 2. Create a Scouting Pin from the List tab:
From the List tab, locate the field for scouting, select the expander arrow to the right of the field name to show more, and then choose Create New Scouting Pin.
With the crosshairs fixed to the center of the screen, move the map around to align the desired scouting point in the field with the bottom point of the crosshairs/pin for where you want the pin to be dropped. Once the pin is in the desired location choose Create Pin.
Recording Scouting Pin Details:
Within the Perform Scouting screen, (1) Field Information such as Crop, Product, and Population will automatically be pulled in from GHX Fields MaxScript or Order Proposal as long as the field assignments have been completed. Otherwise, if no product assignments have been made to this field, the Field Information data points will be set to N/A. This can be adjusted by selecting the Pencil Icon & Edit button.
(2) To edit further information within the Scouting Pin you will need to select Edit from the bottom right corner of the app.
Once Edit mode is active, you can then proceed with adding Notes and Tags (3). To add tags, simply begin with "#" and search the list of available hashtags to include.
(4) Media / Pictures taken during the field scouting or images from the camera roll can be attached to the Scouting Pin for reference. A maximum of 3 images can be attached to each Scouting Pin. Tap within the Add Content box to take a new picture or to browse the camera roll.
(5) Crop Information such as Growth Stage, Stand Count, and Seed Depth can be recorded for the field.
(6) Once all details have been added to the Scouting Pin, choose Save in the bottom right corner.
After at least one image and a Note are Saved to a Scouting Pin, the Share button at the top of the screen will become available. From here you can select Share to create a "Branded Photo Scouting Report."
1. Select Share.
2. Choose Photo to appear on PDF.
3. Select Next.
4. Choose to Download or Share PDF from the bottom of the screen. If downloaded, a photo of the PDF will be saved to your device's camera roll.
